Our largest skid plate, we developed this as a critical addition to the Cummins trucks and a substantial improvement over the thin and unreinforced OEM t-case and DEF tank skids, our skid plate offers an increased area of protection and adds coverage over the previously unprotected and highly vulnerable Diesel Exhaust Fluid Pump, all while integrating seamlessly with our Engine/Transmission Skid Plate to provide a complete protection package underneath your truck.

One of the highest risk parts under the Cummins trucks is the Diesel Exhaust Fluid Pump, mounted at the very bottom of the center frame crossmember. This pump sits so low and in an area of such thin and unsupported sheet metal that any load whatsoever applied under the Pump can crush it, potentially leaving you stranded due to a failure of the emissions system which will place your truck into a limp mode. While the factory does sometimes provide a thin steel guard that attaches over the Pump, it has very little structure and will fail under any real load.

In order to address this trip-ending hazard and prevent you from being stranded in the backcountry, we’ve incorporated a purpose-built skid plate that mounts into factory locations, and that incorporates a standoff distance over the DEF Pump to protect it from the harshest backcountry use, while improving and expanding on the protection offered by the OEM transfer case skid plate. Formed from 3/16″ plate steel, this skid plate offers a number of improvements over the OEM unit. All perimeter edges are sloped to provide a smooth contact and departure when sliding across an obstacle, and all fasteners are recessed to guard against fastener head shearing. Extensive OEM mounting locations and channel supports on the interior make for an incredibly durable piece of armor that will guard your drivetrain against the worst hits you can throw at it.
